What we do

Norfolk LGBT Project's services, according to locally assessed need are:

Free condoms, dental dams & lubricant

These are distributed with commercial gay venues in Norwich, Kings Lynn and Great Yarmouth. A 'condoms, lube & dams by post' scheme is also available. If you would like to receive these through the post then contact us and we will arrange for them to be sent to you. Alternatively, you can simply phone up and arrange to collect them from our Cathedral Street office. Our packs include instructions on how to use them and also provide contact details for other local gay and HIV organisations.

Information and resources

Leaflets and information on many aspects of HIV/AIDS, sexual health, coming out and gay life are distributed through information racks in commercial gay venues.

Confidential face to face support

If you are seeking information or guidance about your sexual health or other issues relating to your sexuality, we are more than happy for you to contact us or make an appointment to visit. You can confidentially discuss issues or questions you might have in a safe and secure gay environment.

We have close working relationships with a number of gay or gay friendly organisations working with a range of issues in Norfolk. The Norfolk LGBT Project cannot cover all the support and information needs a person may have so we have a policy of referring on to other organisations that have specialist knowledge and skills, as and when appropriate.

Outreach Work

We have outreach workers who work in the commercial gay venues in Norwich and Great Yarmouth. The outreach workers provide advice, information and resources including condoms, dental dams and lube, sexual health booklets. They also offer a point of referral to other local gay and HIV agencies.

The Guide

The Guide is a publication that aims to bring together all that is gay and gay friendly businesses, organisations and information. This is available through all the gay venues and non-gay venues in Norfolk.

Peer Support Groups

Norfolk LGBT Project has peer and social support groups that meet weekly and monthly in a safe and confidential space. The groups also offer information and advice about sexual health, self esteem, coming out, sexuality, provides workshops and referrals to other agencies. Our groups include;
